An History of Generosity

Palazzo Marchetti is an historic residence that represents a happy and original synthesis between 19th century Aeolian style and modern comfort. The panoramic view of the vineyards and the cobalt blue sea of the Aeolian islands is embraced with the silence, broken only by the chimes of the bells and the sounds of nature. All around, the green of the vineyards and the Mediterranean vegetation, that climb towards the slopes of Monte Fossa. Palazzo Marchetti was home until 2010 to the Aeolian Museum of Emigration of Malfa. It hosts events, concerts, theatrical performances, “lectures” of literary texts , debates and book presentations and especially a great prestigious event like the Salina DocFest, reaching in 2016 its 10th edition.

Cultural Life

Palazzo Marchetti blends the nineteenth century Aeolian style and modern comfort with panoramic views of the vineyards and the cobalt blue sea of the Aeolian Islands. The main feeling is the silence broken only by the tolling of bells and the sounds of nature, surrounded by vineyards and Mediterranean vegetation of Mount Fossa. Palazzo Marchetti has been the home of the "Emigration Aeolian Museum" in Salina until 2010, and it is still the home to major events such as the Salina DocFest, now in its ninth year edition.
